Oscar winning director Ang Lee spoke candidly about his upcoming film Gemini Man starring Will Smith.
The Oscar winning director Ang Lee who is known for his films like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Sense and Sensibility, Brokeback Mountain and Life of Pi said in an interview to PTI that he was attracted to the digital technology right from the time he helmed the film called Life of Pi. This film saw Suraj Sharma playing the lead. The film Life of Pi got tremendous response from the fans and film audience across the globe. The Indian film audience were left spellbound as the character of Pi was stranded in a vast ocean with a Bengal Tiger on a boat. Ang Lee who has won three Academy Awards from which two were for Best Direction. The director had previously won an Academy Award for his film called Brokeback Mountain.
The director also said that if he gets the right opportunity, he would love to return to India to shoot a venture. The film Gemini Man starring Will Smith will see his character come face to face with his younger version. The Academy Award winning director Ang Lee, 64, said he was comfortable with the 2D technology as he was well versed with it.
But, with the upcoming film called Gemini Man starring Will Smith will explore the use of digital technology which goes a notch higher. The director Ang Lee fondly recalls his experience of shooting for the film called Life of Pi which made use to 3D technology on a greater scale. The director got himself into learning the technology which made it possible to create a digital tiger.
